Hydraulic Accumulators (SRS, Brake) – JCB, CAT

Ride comfort and reliable braking. We offer hydraulic accumulators (diaphragm type) for SRS and brake systems. We stock both nitrogen pre-charged versions (ready to install) and uncharged units (require filling).

For machines: JCB 3CX/4CX backhoes, Loadall telehandlers, CAT excavators, and Volvo machinery.

⚠️ Charged or Empty? Check the product title! If you buy an "Uncharged/To be filled" version, you will need to visit a service center to fill it with nitrogen. Ask if unsure!

ACCUMULATOR

SRS System – Why is the machine "bouncing"?

The Smooth Ride System (SRS) in JCB and CAT machines cushions the loader arm during travel with a full bucket. The heart of this system is the hydraulic accumulator. If the machine "gallops" (bounces) during high-speed travel, it usually means a ruptured membrane in the accumulator (loss of gas cushion). Replacing it restores ride comfort.

Charged or Uncharged?

Our offer includes two types of accumulators:

  • Pre-charged: Ready to install out of the box. They have factory nitrogen pressure (usually stated in the description, e.g., 30 Bar).
  • Uncharged (To be filled): Supplied with transport pressure (approx. 0-5 Bar). Require a visit to a hydraulic service center to be filled with nitrogen to the value required by your machine.

💡 Replacing the accumulator?

Oil will leak when unscrewing the old unit. Make sure the pump is in good condition and top up fluids:

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What pressure should an SRS accumulator have?

It depends on the machine. Typically for JCB 3CX backhoes, it is around 30 Bar, but for larger telehandlers, values may differ. If buying an "uncharged" accumulator, check the machine service manual.

Can a broken accumulator be recharged?

If the gas has escaped during operation, it usually means a ruptured membrane. Such an accumulator is non-repairable (disposable) and must be replaced with a new one.

Need custom pressure?

If you need a specific pressure and only see uncharged versions, contact us. We can often find a pre-charged equivalent.
