Complete Cylinder Heads and Sealing

A cracked head is a common failure from overheating. Our offer includes:

  • Loaded Heads (Complete): Ready to install, fitted with valves, springs, and seals.
  • Bare Heads: Top-quality iron castings (KMP Brand) for self-assembly.
  • Head Gaskets: Modern Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) and composite gaskets. Remember to check the number of notches (thickness)!

Valvetrain and Timing

Reconditioning a head? We have all necessary mechanical components:

  • Valves: Inlet (magnetic) and exhaust (non-magnetic), valve guides, and stem seals.
  • Rocker Arms and Pushrods: Complete rocker shaft assemblies and pushrods.
  • Camshafts: Camshafts for Perkins and JCB Dieselmax engines (check lobe wear when rebuilding!).

Cylinder Head Bolts – Single Use Items

According to best practice, Diesel engine head bolts are "stretch" bolts and must be replaced every time the head is removed. An old bolt may snap when torqued down.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Does a Perkins head fit a JCB Dieselmax?

No! The JCB Dieselmax (444 series) is a different design than Perkins (1104 series), despite looking similar. Heads have different water channels and injector mounts. You must provide the engine number (SA/SB vs RG/RE).

What do the notches on the gasket mean?

Notches (or holes) on the edge of the gasket indicate its thickness. The more notches, the thicker the gasket. You should choose the same one as before (unless the block was decked or pistons changed).

What does a KMP Brand loaded head contain?

A loaded head is ready for installation. It comes with installed and lapped valves, valve springs, collets, and seals. It typically does not include injectors or glow plugs.
