Workshop Tip: A warped, cracked, or leaking valve cover is one of the most common causes of engine "sweating" and oil leaks. During the installation of a new cover, it is absolutely essential to use a new gasket dedicated to the 4HK1 engine, and also replace the injector sleeve seals if they show signs of hardening. The mounting bolts should be tightened evenly, from the center outwards, using a torque wrench according to the manufacturer's recommended torque, to avoid cracking the cover flange.
