Technical Advice: If the old door won't close or latches with great resistance, the lock itself is not always to blame! Very often this is the result of the entire door sagging on worn hinges. Before installing a new lock, check the play on the hinges and, if necessary, adjust the door so that the latch hits the striker on the cabin pillar centrally. Also, avoid lubricating locks with sticky bearing grease – in dusty conditions, it will act like a dirt magnet and quickly jam the mechanism. Use dry Teflon (PTFE) or silicone lubricants.
