Technical Advice: Before installing the new handle, ensure the mounting surface on the hood is clean and free of deformation. Verify the alignment of the locking mechanism with the strike plate or latch receiver; a misaligned hood can place excessive stress on the new handle, leading to premature failure. To maintain smooth operation of the lock, periodically apply a dry lubricant (such as graphite or PTFE spray) into the keyhole. Avoid using thick greases or standard oils inside the lock barrel, as they quickly attract dust and debris, which can jam the mechanism.
