Workshop Tip: Worn pins and bushings are the main cause of annoying bucket play, which not only drastically reduces working precision but can also lead to damage to the machine arm itself (wear of the holes in the expensive casting).
Golden rules for digging system pin replacement:
1. Replacement in sets: Installing a new, hard pin into a worn-out, old bushing defeats the purpose. The resulting play will cause the new component to wear out quickly on the edges. Always try to replace these components in pairs (pin + dedicated bushings).
2. Regular lubrication: Even the hardest 62 HRC pin requires an adequate lubricating film. Remember to regularly, daily lubricate the pivot points with thick grease (e.g., with the addition of molybdenum disulfide), especially after intensive work in rain, water, or thin mud.
