JCB Final Drive Planetary Snap Ring (Circlip) 40.5mm

High-quality spring retaining ring (circlip type) with a 40.5mm diameter, designed for axial securing of planetary gears in JCB tracked excavator planetary transmissions. This key component is responsible for holding the satellites in the correct position on the pins, preventing displacement that could lead to a failure of the entire final drive. Made of high-strength spring steel, it features resistance to deformation and stable operation in gear oil temperatures.

Workshop Technical Advice: During final drive service, it is recommended to replace circlips with new ones or subject them to a thorough inspection. A deformed ring loses its original elasticity and may slip out of the groove under operating load. Always use dedicated circlip pliers for installation to avoid over-expanding the material. Before seating the ring, ensure that the planetary pin groove is thoroughly cleaned of old oil residue and metal shavings.
