Workshop Technical Advice: When replacing a steering tie rod, it is absolutely recommended to check the wheel alignment (toe-in). Even a slight deviation in the length of the new component compared to the worn one can lead to accelerated tire wear and degraded steering precision. Before installation, also check the condition of the rubber boots on the ball joints—any leaks will result in the immediate ingress of sand and water, leading to pin seizure and excessive play in the system.
