Workshop Tip: Failure of this spring often manifests as the drive or attachment "sticking" (e.g., the machine refuses to move or fails to disengage a function despite releasing the button). During replacement, thoroughly clean the interior of the solenoid adaptor to remove deposits and metal shavings. Even minor contamination, combined with a worn (heat-shortened) spring, can cause the solenoid core to jam. It is recommended to check the condition of the adaptor O-rings every time the solenoid is disassembled.
