Technical Advice: A damaged exhaust gas temperature sensor can cause the engine to enter "limp mode" or result in improper DPF filter regeneration. Before installation, it is recommended to apply a minimal amount of ceramic paste to the thread (taking care not to contaminate the sensor tip), which will facilitate future removal. Remember to route the cable correctly, keeping it away from direct contact with hot manifold components to prevent the insulation from melting.
