Technical Advice: The symptom of a damaged start relay is most often a characteristic, dull "clicking" from the fuse box area after turning the key (with a fully charged battery) or a complete lack of response from the starter. Before deciding on an expensive replacement or regeneration of the starter itself, always diagnose the relay! Also, remember to thoroughly clean the socket in the machine from tarnish during replacement – a weak contact causes arcing, which will instantly burn out the new relay.
