JCB Auto Belt Tensioner DIESELMAX - OEM 320/08657

High-quality accessory belt tensioner in OEM quality. Designed for DIESELMAX family engines. It is responsible for maintaining constant and proper tension of the serpentine belt driving engine accessories, such as the alternator, water pump, and cooling fan. It ensures slip-free drive transmission and protects component bearings from overload.

Technical Features:

  • Robust spring design: A highly durable spring inside the mechanism effectively dampens engine torsional vibrations and compensates for belt elongation during operation.
  • Durable idler pulley: Equipped with a sealed, high-speed bearing resistant to dust, mud, and water. Guarantees quiet and smooth drive operation for thousands of operating hours.
  • OEM Quality: The geometry and tension force fully match the parameters of the factory part. This eliminates problems with too low tension (belt squealing, lack of charging) or too high tension (premature wear of water pump bearings).

Technical Advice: When replacing the tensioner, it is mandatory to install a new serpentine belt. It is also good practice to check the bearings of the other idler pulleys, the alternator, and the water pump. If tensioners in your machine fail frequently, the culprit may be a seized alternator freewheel clutch (overrunning alternator pulley) or a damaged torsional vibration damper on the crankshaft pulley. To safely loosen the tensioner during belt installation, use exclusively a dedicated wrench, making sure not to shear off the central pulley bolt.
