Technical Advice: Annoying squeaks coming from under the hood are a sign that the belt has lost its properties or the tensioner has stopped working properly. Never use "belt dressing sprays" to silence them! This is just masking the problem – such preparations coat the pulleys with a sticky goo that instantly binds dust and dirt, destroying the pulleys. When replacing the serpentine belt with a new one, absolutely check the condition of the bearings on the guide idlers and the tensioner spring force. Ignoring a seized roller or a stopped idler pulley will lead to burning and breaking of the new belt in a few moments, which in 4HK1 engines means immediate loss of cooling and the risk of seizing the motor!
