Technical Advice: Before proceeding with the installation of the new crankshaft, it is necessary to thoroughly clean and blow out all oil passages with compressed air. The installation strictly requires the use of a new set of main and connecting rod bearings, dimensionally matched to the nominal journals. When assembling the bearing nodes, apply a specialized assembly lube, which will protect the bearings and the shaft from seizing during the initial "dry" start. Furthermore, the bearing cap bolts should be tightened gradually using a torque wrench, in accordance with the torque specifications defined by Perkins.
