Workshop Technical Tip: One set covers one piston - a 4-cylinder engine (4HK1) needs 4 sets, a 6-cylinder (6HK1) needs 6 sets. When fitting, stagger the ring gaps relative to each other per ISUZU specification (usually 120 or 180 degrees apart, not in line and not over the pin) - poorly positioned gaps cause blow-by and oil loss. Note the correct fitting side of the rings (marked "TOP" or with a dot facing up). Fit the rings with a ring expander, never bend them by hand - cracked or permanently deformed rings will not seal. Use a ring compressor before sliding the piston into the cylinder and make sure the bore is correctly honed.
