Workshop Tip: Replacing cylinder liners requires high precision and absolute cleanliness. Before installing a new liner, make sure that the counterbores in the engine block are perfectly clean, free of rust and debris. After installation, it is absolutely essential to check the liner flange protrusion above the engine block deck surface – it must fall within the tolerances specified in the service manual.
