Workshop Tip: Injection pipes in 6BD1 engines are exposed to strong vibrations during operation. When installing a new pipe, be sure to install the clamping brackets (combs) that connect the pipes together. The lack of these clamps is the most common cause of injection pipe cracking due to resonance. Never force or bend the pipe when tightening - it must perfectly fit the pump and injector connections so as not to generate harmful material stresses.
