Workshop Technical Advice: Working on the injection system requires absolute cleanliness. Before removing the old injectors, thoroughly wash and blow out the area around the seats in the cylinder head with compressed air. Always use completely new copper thermal (sealing) washers at the bottom of the seat and make sure the old washer is not left inside. It is also very important to use a special cutter to clean the mating surface in the head before inserting a new injector. It is best to replace injectors as a complete set to avoid uneven fuel dosing across the cylinders, which can lead to dangerous vibrations and even piston burnout. Always bleed the system after installation is complete.
