JCB Rear Muffler Cushion / Exhaust Hanger 

Exhaust system cushion (hanger), designed to isolate vibrations of the rear muffler in JCB machinery. This component plays a vital role in the flexible mounting of the exhaust system to the machine frame, absorbing vibrations generated by the engine and preventing the transfer of mechanical stress to the exhaust manifold and turbocharger. Made from a special elastomeric compound with thermal resistance, the cushion retains its flexibility even at high operating temperatures.

A cracked or excessively stretched cushion causes the heavy rear muffler to strain the rigid connections, which quickly leads to cracked exhaust pipes or sheared manifold studs. It is recommended to inspect the condition of the rubber hangers during every oil service—if small surface cracks are visible, replacing the cushion will prevent a much more expensive repair of the entire exhaust system.
