Workshop Technical Tip: Pumps with a 200 l/min output generate enormous internal friction at start-up. Before fitting, always check that the suction line is clear and the entire hydraulic system is clean. The critical step is pre-filling the pump housing with clean hydraulic oil before starting the engine - running dry at 343 bar will destroy the piston bores almost instantly. It is also recommended to renew the main filter and check the pilot control pressure after installation. Also inspect the condition of the drive shaft and coupling - any runout or play will transfer to the new pump and shorten its service life.
