Timing Cases

This is a structural engine component connecting the block with pumps (injection, hydraulic, water). We offer new aluminum castings from Azeri Parts and Perkins, which fit perfectly in place of damaged (cracked) originals. Cracks most often occur due to vibration (loose bolts) or machine collision.

Covers, Gaskets, and Ancillaries

A leaking front cover leads to oil loss and risk of engine seizure. Our range includes:

  • Timing covers: Metal shields closing the timing gears from the front.
  • Oil filler caps: Often lost or mechanically damaged.
  • Gaskets and O-rings: Dedicated paper/metal gaskets for the housing and crankshaft seals (Simmerrings) installed in the cover.

Does the case come with a gasket?

Usually, aluminum cases (Azeri Parts/Perkins) are sold as a "bare" casting. Mounting gaskets must be purchased separately or sealant used if specified by the manufacturer.

Why does the timing case crack?

The most common cause is the operation of the injection or hydraulic pump with loose mounting bolts. Vibrations transferred to the rigid aluminum cause fatigue cracks at the mounting "ears".

Housings in older Perkins engines (4.236) come in many variants. If you are unsure, send us the number from the casting of the old part.
