Cylinder Head Bolts – Perkins, JCB, CAT

Sealing guarantee. We offer cylinder head bolts (singles and sets) – stretch bolts required for every gasket replacement. Brands: Perkins, KMP Brand, Maguro, and Azeri Parts.

For engines: Perkins (1000, 1100, 400 series), JCB Dieselmax (444/Ecomax), CAT (3054/C4.4), and Isuzu.

Grade 12.9

⚠️ Old bolts are a risk! Head bolts stretch during tightening. Reusing them risks snapping inside the block. Don't save on this – order a new set.

HEAD BOLT

Why replace cylinder head bolts?

Perkins and JCB Dieselmax engines use TTY (Torque-To-Yield) bolts. They are torqued to a specific value and then turned by a certain angle, causing permanent plastic deformation (stretching). Such a bolt acts like a very strong spring, clamping down the gasket. Once removed, it is "stretched" and has lost its properties. Reusing it risks snapping or insufficient gasket clamping.

Bolt Types Available

We stock high-tensile bolts (10.9, 12.9) from KMP Brand, Perkins, and Maguro:

  • Head Bolt Kits: A complete set for the engine (often containing various bolt lengths).
  • Single Bolts: Available if you need to replace just one damaged unit.
  • Studs: Used in some older engine designs.

💡 Got the bolts?

Bolts are half the battle. You need the correct gasket (thickness selected). Check:

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Should I lubricate bolts before installation?

Yes, but sparingly. Lightly oil the threads and the underside of the bolt head with clean engine oil. Too much oil in the block hole can cause hydraulic lock and crack the block during tightening!

What is the torque setting?

The tightening procedure is specific to each engine (e.g., initial torque + 90 degrees + 90 degrees). This instruction is often included with the head gasket, not the bolts.

Snapped a bolt in the block?

If the block thread is damaged, thread repair (Helicoil) or block replacement might be necessary. Contact us for advice.
