Technical Advice: Huge play and "floating" of the hydraulic control lever rarely result from a serious failure of the control valve itself. Usually, these tiny, worn linkage bushings and pins are to blame. When replacing the bushing, always carefully check the condition of the mating clevis pin. If the pin is visibly worn ("eaten" on one side) or has a noticeable ridge, installing just a new bushing will solve the problem only for a short time. Also remember to lightly lubricate the joint to reduce friction during operation.
