Technical Advice (Installation & Clearance): 1. **Eliminating "Sway":** Excessive play on the wear pads causes dangerous swaying of the telescopic sections, which can lead to fatigue cracks in the boom arm.
2. **Thickness Selection:** During service, measure the gap with a feeler gauge. 0.5 mm shims are used for final, high-precision tightening of the wear pad.
3. **Uniformity:** Always check clearances on both sides of the boom. Uneven shim placement can cause section "cocking" and accelerated wear of the nylon slides.
