JCB Differential Planet Gear Washer - ORIGINAL

Original spherical thrust washer for the differential pinion gear. This component is installed between the pinion (small bevel gear) and the differential housing (carrier), and is responsible for reducing friction and maintaining proper gear backlash.

Technical Features:

  • Spherical Shape: The specially profiled, convex surface perfectly matches the back of the pinion gear, allowing for smooth rotation under high pressure during cornering or wheel slip.
  • High Abrasion Resistance: Made of a specialized alloy resistant to high temperatures and surface pressures, which minimizes wear on the seats within the differential carrier.
  • System Protection: Effectively eliminates axial play of the pinions, preventing teeth from impacting each other, which directly extends the service life of the entire drive axle.

Technical Advice: Spherical washers are the most affordable yet often the most neglected components of the differential mechanism. Excessive wear causes the pinions to "drift away" from the side gears, leading to a drastic reduction in tooth contact surface and sudden breakage under load. Important: Always replace these washers as a full set (usually 4 pieces) whenever the differential is opened. Before installation, check the spherical surfaces of the differential carrier for deep scratches—if present, the new washer will wear prematurely.
