Technical Advice: A damaged half-shaft U-joint usually makes itself known by a characteristic, metallic "clacking" or popping from the wheel area when turning under load. Ignoring these first symptoms will lead to the complete disintegration of the U-joint during operation. This usually results in breaking the "ears" (yokes) of the half-shaft itself, which generates gigantic and completely unnecessary costs of repairing the entire axle. Remember the absolute necessity of regular lubrication of the U-joint through the grease nipple – fresh grease not only reduces friction, but above all physically pushes water and sand out of the needle bearings.
