Workshop Technical Tip: Symptoms of a worn driveshaft yoke include knocking or clicking on take-off and during tight turns, play felt when moving the driveshaft by hand, and vibration during travel. When replacing the yoke, always renew the U-joint (30.2 x 82 mm) at the same time - replacing the yoke alone without a new U-joint only provides a temporary improvement. Before assembly, pack the needle-roller bearings with the correct joint grease - running dry rapidly destroys the new bearings. Also check the condition of the U-joint seals - these protect against water and mud ingress, which is the most common cause of premature joint corrosion and wear.
