Technical Advice: Because this bearing very often runs directly on the shaft surface, it is absolutely essential to check the condition of the shaft itself before installing the new component. If it has pitting, thermal discoloration, or is worn (a "lip" has formed), installing a new needle bearing without reconditioning or replacing the shaft will cause its immediate destruction. Remember to pre-lubricate the bearing with fresh gear oil before assembling the gearbox.
