Workshop Technical Advice: During the installation of the thrust washer, it is absolutely crucial to pay attention to its directionality. Many thrust washers have milled oil grooves on one side – this side must face the rotating element (e.g., the gear) to ensure an oil film and proper lubrication. Installing the washer in reverse will lead to its rapid burning and seizure of the transmission. Before assembly, always check the mating surface on the shaft and in the housing for deep scratches or pitting.
