Technical Advice: 6HK1 engines in large JS series excavators operate under high thermal loads. A leak from the lower rocker cover gasket can lead to contamination of the engine block and accessories, which hinders cooling and can mask other faults. When replacing the gasket with an AZERI PARTS one, the cylinder head contact surface must be thoroughly cleaned. It is also recommended to check the condition of the upper valve cover gasket and the engine breather (crankcase ventilation), as blockage of the breather is often the cause of oil being forced through the seals.
