Technical Advice: Rocker shaft wear most often manifests as loud, "hard" engine operation and difficulties in maintaining proper valve clearance. When installing a new rocker assembly, it is absolutely recommended to check the oil gallery clearance in the cylinder head – a lack of proper lubrication will destroy the new shaft within just a few hours of operation. After installation, a precise valve clearance adjustment must be performed according to the engine service data (Dieselmax/Ecomax). Using a genuine JCB component prevents the risk of rocker arm cracking, which in low-quality aftermarket parts often results in a major engine failure.
