JCB DIESELMAX Crankshaft - ORIGINAL

Original crankshaft (standard size). The main component of the crank assembly in DIESELMAX engines. It is responsible for converting the reciprocating motion of the pistons into rotary motion. It is the component subjected to the highest dynamic loads, torsional, and bending forces during engine operation under load.

Technical Features:

  • Forged steel and hardening: The crankshaft is made of high-strength forged steel. The journals are induction hardened, providing a hard working surface that cooperates with the bearings and prevents premature wear.
  • Perfect balancing: Original dynamic balancing eliminates vibrations that could lead to crankshaft cracking or engine block damage.
  • Standard size (STD): The brand-new crankshaft requires no grinding and is ready for installation with standard size (STD) main and connecting rod bearings.

Technical Advice: Before setting the new crankshaft in the block, it is absolutely necessary to thoroughly blow out all oil passages inside the shaft with compressed air – even new factory parts can have remnants of preservative greases. Installing the crankshaft requires the use of a complete set of new main bearings, connecting rod bearings, and thrust washers. Remember to use exclusively new bolts when assembling the connecting rods. After tightening the main bearing caps to the recommended torque, ensure the crankshaft rotates smoothly without noticeable resistance and measure its end play using a dial indicator.
