Technical Tip: During crankshaft installation, it is imperative to thoroughly clean the engine block oil galleries. It is recommended to replace the oil pump with a new one and use clean assembly lube on the bearing surfaces. Proper seating of the thrust washers is crucial to avoid excessive crankshaft axial end play.
