Workshop Tip: A thermostat stuck in the closed position will quickly lead to the engine "boiling over," while one stuck in the open position will cause the machine to constantly run underheated, which drastically increases fuel consumption and wear of interacting components. When replacing the thermostat, always thoroughly clean the housing mating surfaces and use a new gasket. This is also an excellent opportunity to check the condition of the radiator hoses and fill the system with fresh, high-quality coolant, remembering to properly bleed the system after reassembly.
