Technical Tip: The most common cause of high-pressure pump failure is contaminated fuel or internal metal flaking (swarf). Before installing a new pump, it is absolutely necessary to clean the entire fuel system (including the tank) and replace fuel filters. We also recommend verifying the SCV (Suction Control Valve) – uneven engine operation ("hunting") often results from damage to this valve, not the entire pump.
