Workshop Technical Tip: The joystick hose operates in the pilot control circuit at relatively low pressure, but is subject to constant flexing with every joystick movement. Signs of wear or damage include: delayed joystick response, asymmetric or "soft" operation of a particular function, or visible oil leaks around the cab area. When replacing, always check the condition of the fittings and end seals — an old seal on a new hose is a direct route to a leak. Do not bend the new hose below its minimum bend radius — damage to the braid reinforcement is difficult to detect visually and leads to gradual internal bore deterioration.
