Technical Tip: When replacing the lower hydraclamp body, it is imperative to install new seals (o-rings). Ensure that the hydraulic hose feeding the housing is not kinked or frayed, which could lead to an unexpected drop in clamping pressure and loosening of the kingpost. Also, pay attention to the slide wear pads – operating with heavily worn pads causes the mechanism to skew, acting as a lever on the housing, which is the most common cause of lower body fractures.
