Technical Advice: The dipper cylinder is responsible for most of the breakout force during digging, making it one of the most heavily exploited cylinders in the machine. Slow, "weak" arm movements or a noticeable dropping of the attachment are the first signs of wear on the internal piston seals. Before installing a new kit, carefully inspect the rod's chrome surface for stone impacts – the sharp edges of chips will instantly cut the lip of the new wiper and gland seal. Always use appropriate tools to install hard piston seals so as not to stretch them.
