JCB Final Drive Ring Gear - ORIGINAL

Original planetary final drive ring gear (annulus). Part that serves as the foundation of the final reduction system in the drive axle. It is a stationary geared element along which the planetary gears (pinions) move, enabling the efficient transmission of massive driving forces to the wheel hub while simultaneously relieving the axle shafts.

  • Material: Made of high-grade alloy steel, subjected to precise induction hardening of the teeth. This ensures extreme resistance to abrasion and fatigue strength under heavy loads.
  • Manufacturing Precision: Excellent internal gearing geometry guarantees smooth cooperation with the planetary gears, minimizing drive system noise and preventing oil overheating within the final drive.

Technical Advice: Replacement of the ring gear is necessary when pitting or chipping appears on the lateral surfaces of the teeth. Ignoring these symptoms leads to the "grinding" of the planetary gears and irreversible damage to the hub. During the installation of a new ring gear, it is absolutely essential to change the oil in the final drive to fresh oil (complying with JCB specifications) and to check the condition of the hub seal to avoid leaks, which are the most common cause of planetary gear seizure.
