Technical Advice: Damage to the hub housing most often results from operating with loose wheel studs, which leads to the seats being knocked out, or from ignoring the howling of worn wheel bearings, which in extreme cases can "weld" to the housing due to immense friction and overheating. When installing a new original housing, it is absolutely necessary to replace the complete set of tapered roller bearings and hub seals. Also ensure that the bearing clearance is set with the appropriate preload, and the wheel nuts are tightened with a torque wrench after lowering the machine to the ground.
