Viscous Fan Drive Assembly (fits JCB) - OEM 30/926523

OEM-quality viscous fan drive assembly (thermostatic fan clutch) for JCB mini excavators, tracked excavators, telescopic handlers and industrial forklifts. The viscous fan drive is an intelligent thermostatic cooling fan control — it automatically adjusts fan speed according to engine coolant temperature. When the engine is cold or under low thermal load, the fan runs slower, reducing power consumption and noise. As temperature rises, the drive increases fan speed to deliver intensive cooling. A failed viscous coupling most commonly locks in the disengaged position — the fan does not spin or spins too slowly, causing engine overheating. OEM quality — perfect fit and durability identical to the original factory component.

Workshop Technical Tip: Quick test for viscous drive condition: with the engine cold, the fan should spin freely by hand with some resistance. With the engine at operating temperature — resistance should be significantly higher and the fan difficult to stop by hand. A fan that spins freely when hot has a failed coupling and is not cooling adequately. Conversely, a coupling locked permanently engaged (fan always at full speed) causes excessive noise, increased fuel consumption and risk of drive belt failure. When replacing the viscous drive, always check the condition of the water pump bearing — both components share a common shaft and it is good practice to replace them together.
