If you notice that the power unit heats up too quickly and "boils" the coolant (stuck in the closed position) or, conversely, cannot reach the optimal temperature of 82°C (stuck in the open position), replace this component immediately. An under-heated engine burns more fuel and is subject to faster frictional wear. During installation, always carefully clean the mating surfaces of the housing, use a new gasket, and ensure that the system is properly bled of air after filling.
