Technical Advice: Seals sized 50 mm / 80 mm are highly versatile and operate in numerous machine nodes (often in stabilizer and steering cylinders). Before applying the new kit, ensure the 50 mm rod is completely free of microscopic chrome chips – these act like a grater, destroying new wiper seals within days. Prior to fitting the polyurethane piston seal pack, it is recommended to gently warm it (e.g., in clean, warm oil). This will make the material more flexible and allow it to be safely stretched over the piston edge without the risk of permanent elongation.
