JCB Steering Cylinder Piston Rod - OEM
Steering cylinder piston rod manufactured to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) standards, dedicated to JCB machine steering systems. This is a key executive component of the double-acting cylinder, responsible for the precise transmission of hydraulic force to the steering tie rods. Made of high-strength steel, it undergoes a precision grinding and hard-chroming process, ensuring minimal friction and maximum protection for the cylinder seals.
Significant product features:
- Hard Chroming: A high-hardness chromium layer protects the rod against corrosion, scratches, and stone chips, significantly extending the service life of the seals (wiper and oil seals).
- Dimensional Precision: Manufacturing accuracy at the micrometer level guarantees a perfect fit with the cylinder gland, eliminating the risk of external leaks.
- Material Fatigue Resistance: Special heat treatment of the rod core allows it to withstand the massive bending forces encountered during maneuvering in difficult terrain.

Technical Advice: When replacing the 448/17204 rod, it is strictly recommended to install a new cylinder seal kit. Even minor scratches on an old rod can damage the sealing edges of the new seals, leading to rapid leaks. Before installation, check the condition of the steering tie rods and ends – play in these components causes hydraulic shocks, which are the most common cause of steering rod bending.
