Brand new, original hydraulic valve (selector) for changing steering modes, marked with part number 160/01791. This is a key component of the steering system in JCB telescopic handlers and backhoe loaders. This valve, manually controlled via the included cable, is responsible for redirecting hydraulic oil flow to the steering rams, allowing the selection of one of three driving modes: front-wheel steer (2WS - road travel), all-wheel steer (4WS - tight turning radius), and "crab steer" (diagonal travel).

Technical Tip: Problems with switching steering modes often result from the seizure of the control cable itself or dirt in the detent mechanism, not necessarily hydraulic failure. However, if the wheels "drift" (lose synchronization) after switching modes, internal leakage in the old valve is usually to blame. After installing the new valve, wheel synchronization is required: set the switch to 2WS, straighten the rear wheels, and then perform several full turns of the steering wheel from lock to lock to bleed and synchronize the rams.
