Types of Coils in JCB Machines
Coil failure is one of the most common reasons for a machine function "disappearing". Depending on location, coils control various components:
- Transmission Solenoids: Located on the gearbox. They control Forward/Reverse travel and 4WD engagement.
- Distributor Coils: Control oil flow to cylinders (e.g., telescope extension, clam shovel, hammer line).
- Pump and Fan Coils: Regulate main pump flow or radiator fan speed (PWM systems).
How to select a coil? (Azeri Parts vs OEM)
Besides the part number, dimensions are key. Azeri Parts coils are precise replacements that fit perfectly on Husco, Rexroth, or Parker valve stems used in JCB. Before buying, check:
- Voltage: 12V or 24V? (Marked on the housing).
- Hole Diameter: E.g., 13mm, 16mm, 19mm. A loose coil won't generate a magnetic field; a tight one won't fit.
- Connector: Deutsch (gray/black), Junior Timer (rectangular), or flying leads.
💡 Coil is good, but function dead?
If the coil has resistance and magnetizes ("pulls a screwdriver") but the machine doesn't react, the problem might be a stuck mechanical valve (stem). Check:
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Absolutely not. A 12V coil connected to a 24V system will burn out immediately. Conversely, a 24V coil in a 12V system won't have the strength to open the valve.
In JCB machines, color often suggests function or voltage (e.g., blue ones are often for travel/steering), but it's not a rule. Always go by part number and dimensions, not plastic color.
Broken plug on the coil?
Coils work in harsh conditions (water, mud, vibration). We offer high-quality sealed coils. If you have wiring issues, contact us.
