Description

JCB Brake Piston Seal (Square Profile) - ORIGINAL

Original "Square Ring" type seal designed for JCB machine brake system pistons. The square-cut profile provides significantly greater tightness at high hydraulic pressures than standard O-rings, which is crucial for the safe operation of heavy construction and agricultural equipment.

Technical Features and Advantages:

  • Square-cut Profile: Prevents the seal from twisting in the groove during piston movement, eliminating the risk of sudden system depressurization under load.
  • Shape "Memory" Effect: The special elastomer compound allows the seal to slightly deform during braking and quickly return to its original form, which assists in piston retraction and prevents disc dragging.
  • Oil Compatibility: Made from material resistant to aggressive additives in transmission-hydraulic oils used in "wet" brake systems.

Technical Advice: Square-profile seals require special care during installation. They must not be overstretched, and they should be moistened with fresh hydraulic oil before being seated in the piston groove. The most common cause of failure for these seals is contaminated oil (metal filings), which cuts the sharp sealing edges, leading to a pressure drop in the braking system.
