Brake friction disc. Manufacturer: AZERI PARTS. An actuator element of the braking system operating in an oil bath inside the drive axles of JCB machines. It is responsible for generating friction force in contact with steel counter plates after pressure is applied by the brake piston.

Technical Advice: Replacing friction discs requires simultaneous verification of the thickness and flatness of the steel plates (counter plates). Thermal discoloration (purple/blue tarnish) on the steel plates qualifies the entire package for replacement. Because these are brakes operating in a wet system, the new friction discs must be soaked in dedicated transmission-hydraulic oil before final installation in the axle. Installing completely dry discs will lead to burning of the friction lining during the first braking cycles due to the lack of a lubricating and cooling film.
