Technical Advice: The appearance of oil seepage or a leak on the inner side of the wheel is a signal for the immediate replacement of the seal. Oil loss in the hub leads to rapid overheating and bearing seizure, which generates enormous axle repair costs. During the installation of a new oil seal, ensure that the hub surface (spindle journal) where the seal lip operates is free of scratches or pitting. Before seating, it is recommended to lightly moisten the lip with clean gear oil to prevent a "dry start" and premature rubber wear.
