JCB 66T Wheel Hub Ring Gear - ORIGINAL

Original wheel hub ring gear (planetary annulus gear) with 66 internal teeth. This part constitutes the outer, stationary element of the planetary gear in the machine's final drive. It cooperates directly with the planetary gears (pinions), enabling the reduction of rotational speed and the multiplication of torque transmitted to the wheels.

Technical Features and Parameters:

  • Number of teeth: 66T (internal teeth).
  • Dimensions: Outer diameter: approx. 260 mm | Inner diameter: approx. 225 mm | Height: approx. 75 mm.
  • High abrasion resistance: Made of forged and then precisely surface-hardened steel. This guarantees resistance to tooth breakage under the powerful torsional forces generated when pushing material or working in heavy terrain.
  • Compatibility: The milled tooth profile prevents excessive noise (final drive whining) and premature wear of the mating planetary gears.

Technical Advice: Damage to the ring gear teeth is most often a chain reaction resulting from the grinding of the final drive planetary gears or the sun gear on the axle shaft. Never replace the ring gear alone if the mating planetary gears show signs of pitting, breakage, or excessive sharp wear – the old, worn component will instantly destroy the new part. Before installing the new ring gear, you must absolutely perfectly clean the axle housing and hub of metal shavings. The remaining "silver" in the oil will act like an abrasive paste and destroy the tapered roller hub bearings.
